Being Thankful…

When I sat down to write, I couldn’t think of anything. As if my mind suddenly ran out of all it’s ideas. Just then, my mobile notified me of a new WhatsApp message. The message was simple, very simple indeed, just 2 words- “THANK YOU“. The point here is not what that person was thanking me for, but, that he made an attempt to Be Thankful.Okay.. So let us think to ourselves, how many times in a week  (a day would probably result in ‘0’ ) are we thankful? Most of us would be rather surprised to see that the answer does not  even account to being more than 5 at the most. Isn’t that  a pretty low score? Or are we all so accustomed to the Candy Crush scores, that these ones don’t matter anymore?

Thanking isn’t just for your new gifts and surprises but about everything else that you are lucky to have. You must be thankful for even the smallest of things you have (although their importance is far more than your imagination)- A roof on your head, a wonderful family, and your life, most importantly. Well, most of us might have thought about this, at some time. Then, we got busy in the fast running world and lost track of this important virtue. But, what about the second side of this coin of Thankfulness?

There is one more thing you need to be thankful about… After all who will thank all the setbacks and obstacles that you have met in your life. Now, let’s not be that surprised. Because the fact is that it is only these challenges that inspire us to work harder, to prove ourselves and to become better. After all, aren’t we all hidden diamonds, waiting to be cut across hard substances that would make us shine better. Our life’s problems are those very substances… In short, why not take everything in a bit more positive and sporty way and be thankful for it.

I know it’s not New Year, but let us still make a resolution today (This is  only if you plan to stand by them… And a few months would be good enough for me, I am sure by then, you will read one more such article to inspire you for the next few months and so on..). So, Let’s resolve to make a list of all things we are thankful for and add one new thing each day.. It isn’t that bad an idea, is it?? And yes, before I forget- Thank you for reading this article and please look out for more of these :).                                                                  Have a great day!!!
